About Miss WallaceI grew up as an Air Force child, which meant moving around quite a bit with my parents and two siblings - a brother and a sister. I have lived in Missouri since 2000, though, so I consider this home. My fiance and I are planning a wedding for October 2015, so this is a very exciting time of us. I graduated from high school at Knob Noster High School and then continued my education at Northwest Missouri State University.
In April 2012, I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. That fall I started teaching 6th grade math at Excelsior Springs Middle School, and am still in that position now. At ESMS, I also serve as the PBS Tier 2 Facilitator, a member of the PBS Tier 3 Committee, a PDC representative, and the MathCounts coach. I am continuing my higher education as I pursue a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership K-12, also through Northwest Missouri State Education. I love working with children, and helping them foster a love of learning. Math has always been a passion of mine, and I hope to instill that same passion in my students. |
About 6th Grade MathThe 6th Grade Math curriculum focuses on five core areas, aligned with the Common Core State Standards: Expressions and Equations, Number Sense, Ratios and Proportional Relationships, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. Within each of these five areas, we will be exploring concepts such as writing and evaluating algebraic expressions, dividing fractions, the meaning of rational numbers, surface area, and measures of center and variability.
