|Miss Wallace's 6th Grade Math||
About Miss Wallace
I grew up as an Air Force child, which meant moving around quite a bit with my parents and two siblings - a brother and a sister. I have lived in Missouri since 2000, though, so I consider this home. My fiance and I are planning a wedding for October 2015, so this is a very exciting time of us. I graduated from high school at Knob Noster High School and then continued my education at Northwest Missouri State University.
In April 2012, I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. That fall I started teaching 6th grade math at Excelsior Springs Middle School, and am still in that position now. At ESMS, I also serve as the PBS Tier 2 Facilitator, a member of the PBS Tier 3 Committee, a PDC representative, and the MathCounts coach. I am continuing my higher education as I pursue a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership K-12, also through Northwest Missouri State Education.
I love working with children, and helping them foster a love of learning. Math has always been a passion of mine, and I hope to instill that same passion in my students.
About 6th Grade Math
The 6th Grade Math curriculum focuses on five core areas, aligned with the Common Core State Standards: Expressions and Equations, Number Sense, Ratios and Proportional Relationships, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.
